Board of Directors
NEIL
REITHINGER has been our Chairman of
the Board, President and
Chief Executive Officer since April 3, 1998 and previously
served as Interim President from December 10, 1997. He was
elected as a director on February 18, 1997. He was appointed
Acting Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer on
October 28, 1996. Mr. Reithinger had been Controller since
January 1994. Prior to joining us and from July 1992 through
December 1993, Mr. Reithinger worked for Bank of America. He
received a Bachelors degree in accounting from the University
of Arizona in 1992 and received his certification as Certified
Public Accountant in 1996.
KARL H. RULLICH has
been a director since 1991. He was appointed
Vice President on April 3, 1998 and has served as our Director
of International Sales since May 1996. Prior to April 19, 1995,
he served as our President, Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer.
He worked as a Marketing Director, General Manager and Vice
President for Pfizer Hospital Products Group in their international
business and operations for over 25 years. Mr. Rullich holds
a degree in economics from the Business College in Essen, Germany.
He emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1956 and
became a naturalized citizen in 1961.
O. LEE TAWES, III has
been a director since 2001.He is Executive Vice President
and Head of Investment Banking, and a Director, at Northeast
Securities, Inc. From
2000-2001 he was Managing Director of Research for C.E. Unterberg,
Towbin, an investment and merchant banking firm specializing
in high growth technology companies. Mr. Tawes spent
20 years at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and CIBC World Markets,
where he was Director of Equity Research from 1991 to 1999. He
was also Chairman of the Stock Selection Committee at CIBC,
a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, and Commitment
Committee. From 1972 to 1990, Mr. Tawes was an analyst
covering the food and diversified industries at Goldman Sachs & Co.
from 1972 to 1979, and Oppenheimer from 1979 to 1990. As
food analyst, he was named to the Institutional Investor
All American Research Team five times from 1979 though 1989.
Mr. Tawes is a graduate of Princeton University and received
his MBA from Darden School at the University of Virginia.
DAVID TSIANG has
been a director since June 2007. He is the Managing Director
of Investment Banking at Northeast Securities, Inc. Prior to
joining Northeast Securities, Inc. in December 2001, he served
as Vice President of corporate planning at the investment bank
C.E. Unterberg, Towbin from November 1999 to October 2001,
and Vice President/Senior Analyst with the financial services
firm Ernst & Company from March 1991
to March 1998. Prior to working at Ernst & Company, Mr.
Tsiang served in various capacities in commercial banking with
the Barclays Bank of NY, The CIT Group and Howard Savings Bank
(First Union Bank). Mr. Tsiang is a graduate of Ramapo College
of New Jersey and is NASD Series 7 and 63 qualified.
NEIL RUSSELL has
been a director since June 2007. He is President of Site 85
Productions ("Site 85"), a company formed in 2000 that is engaged
in the creation and acquisition of intellectual property rights
for exploitation across a broad spectrum of entertainment media,
including motion pictures, television, video games and publishing.
Mr. Russell is a former motion picture and television distribution
executive with Paramount Pictures, Columbia and MGM/UA, where
he handled pictures like "The Godfather," "Chinatown," "Death
Wish," "Three Days of the Condor" and the James Bond films.
He formed his first company, Horizon Entertainment, in 1983,
which, after merging with Orbis Communications, was acquired
in 1985 by Carolco Pictures, Inc., producers of such films
as "Rambo" pictures and "Terminator 2." He was also founder
and President of Carolco Television Productions (CTP) which
produced high-profile television motion pictures for domestic
and international exploitation. In 1991, CTP was acquired by
Multimedia Entertainment, producers of Phil Donahue and Sally
Jesse Raphael, and renamed Multimedia Motion Pictures with
Mr. Russell remaining as president. When Multimedia was acquired
by Gannett, Inc. in 1993, Mr. Russell purchased the assets
of MMP and began aggressively acquiring intellectual property
rights under his own banner. Since then, producing partnerships
or licensing arrangements of rights owned or controlled by
Mr. Russell have been made with Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Activision,
Simon & Schuster, Tribune
Entertainment, Scott Free Productions, MGM Television, Heyday
Films, FP Productions, Touchstone Television, Hyde Park Entertainment,
F/X Networks and others. Mr. Russell is currently engaged,
through Site 85, with several major studios in the development
of television series, motion pictures, video games and an action
comic book series, all based on rights owned by him. He also
authored the book, "Can I Still Kiss You?: Answering Your Children’s
Questions about Cancer," which grew out of his own two successful
battles with the disease. A graduate of Parsons College, Mr.
Russell is a member of the Naval War College Foundation and
a former board member of the Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis. |
Management
TOM PINKOWSKI – VICE PRESIDENT OF BAYWOOD AND
PRESIDENT OF
LIFETIME
Mr. Pinkowski has been President of LifeTime since December
2004. Prior to joining LifeTime, Mr. Pinkowski owned and operated
two retail stores called Nutrition Pros, that focused on educating
the public on health and nutritional issues within a high end
retail environment. Before that, Mr. Pinkowski was Founder
and President of Contact Resources, Inc., a sales brokerage
company that contracted with manufactures to formulate products,
review company image, improve labeling, give sales representation
in the Western United States and Hawaii and improve overall
company distribution and placement. Mr. Pinkowski lectured
on various health topics, opened and managed key accounts,
trained and hired employees and became an authority of the
retail vitamin market. After a brief professional sports career,
Mr. Pinkowski got his start in the industry with Richlife Vitamins
where he consistently became top national sales producer and
achieved the title of National Sales Manager.
JOHN STALEY – NATIONAL SALES DIRECTOR
Mr. Staley brings over 25 years of management, marketing and
sales experience to the company’s management team. He most
recently served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales
for the Glenn Matteson Division of National Vitamin Company
where he played a significant role in turning the Matteson
Division into a respectable competitor in the marketplace,
raising sales from $920,000 to $2.1M. Mr. Staley holds a
bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada and an MBA
from Biola University in organizational leadership. He is
highly regarded in his community for serving as a mentor
to youth and his dedication to family.
GERARD MCINTEE – DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
A skilled strategic planner with 25 years of experience in
the sales and marketing of consumer products, Mr. McIntee
has successfully created marketing strategies that integrate
magazine publishing, direct mail, national advertising and
a retail sales force to achieve heightened brand awareness,
increased market penetration, and consistent product distribution.
Prior to joining Baywood, Mr. McIntee was the founder and
CEO of IntraMedia Publishing LLC, a sales, marketing and
custom publishing firm catering to clients in the nutraceutical
field. Prior to founding IntraMedia Publishing, McIntee was
Vice-President of Marketing for 13 years with Natural Organics
Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of nutritional supplements
and health food products based in Melville, New York. While
at Natural Organics, Mr. McIntee designed, implemented and
executed marketing programs that drove the company’s growth
from $17M to over $100M. McIntee holds a BA in Marketing
from Pace University in New York City, as well as a diploma
from New York University’s Direct Marketing Program.
ROBERT H. GEIGES, JR., CPA - CONTROLLER
Mr. Geiges is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Masters
Degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University.
He has over 30 years of broad accounting and management experience
with multi-billion dollar international businesses such as
Drake International, The Thomson Corporation and several
entrepreneurial companies. Prior to joining Baywood, Mr.
Geiges was a consultant and managing member of Geiges & Associates
LLC a strategic planning and financial consulting practice,
with heavy emphasis on early stage businesses and turnaround
opportunities where his current success rate is over 85%.
Prior to relocating to Phoenix, Arizona Mr. Geiges served
as CFO for Clarion Management Ltd. a venture capital and
hedge fund with primary focus in publishing, technology,
information, and natural resources. As a founding member
of Huebcore Communication, Mr. Geiges served as CFO/Controller
of this manufacturing sector trade publisher acquired from
The Thomson Corporation. Mr. Geiges also served for 5 years
with Deloitte & Touche’ in Philadelphia Pennsylvania
where he had audit responsibility for both public and private
clients. Mr. Geiges is a member of the adjunct faculty of
Ottawa University, International Import-Export Institute
and was member of the adjunct faculty of Cleveland State
University teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in
Accounting, Finance, Strategic Marketing and Human Resources.
He has experience in both domestic and international operations
including establishment and management of facilities in Asia
and Europe. He has lectured globally on various strategic
business development topics.
